Edible Product Analysis

Analytical 360′s Cannabis Analysis Laboratory tests edible products to determine the total THC, CBN, and CBD present. Specifically, we determine if the major cannabinoids are decarboxylated properly, transforming the naturally occurring but inactive form of Δ9-THC-A (THCA) into active Δ9-THC (THC).

THC is usually present at a quite low level in fresh plant material and is considered to be derived artificially from THCA by non-enzymatic decarboxylation during storage and consumption (e.g. smoking, vaporizing, or cooking).

Edibles can be an effective method of delivery for the patient. However, the edibles must be processed properly to ensure the molecule is in the active form required.
